FREE ACTIVITIES
The Edsel Show - Live!
On October 12, 1957, CBS television pre-empted their broadcast of The Ed Sullivan Show to present “The Edsel Show”, starring Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Lindsay Crosby and Louis Armstrong. We are pleased to present Eric Anderson and cast to recreate this show with live music and performances. Mr Anderson is not only an accomplished musician and director, he is also an Edsel owner.
Tentatively scheduled at Winter Island as part of the BBQ, this venue is subject to change.
Children’s Programs
To keep the younger crowd interested, a tour of Salem from a kid’s perspective, along with creating Salem-related arts & crafts, will be offered by Nicole Anderson on Saturday.
The Edsel Farm Open House
New England Chapter Vice President Allen Rogler will open his homestead to Edsel owners. His “Edsel Farm” includes a large barn decorated with Edsel signs and vintage gas station memorabilia, and is filled with Edsels and Edsel-related items. It is a working Edsel restoration shop, with its own separate paint booth and vehicle storage areas. Very likely we’ll see a car in mid-restoration. Light refreshments will be served.
A fun diversion on your way home on Sunday.
Other Notes
We have also been granted many discount passes (and in some cases, FREE passes) to major attractions in the historic Salem area. These will be included in the Registration Packets, along with maps, directions, times and contact information for all our scheduled events.
It’s also worth mentioning that the host hotel is haunted. The Hawthorne Hotel has been researched by numerous paranormal activity investigators, and appears on several web sites as one of the top haunted hotels in America. Sleep tight!
